Located in the heart of the
California Redwoods, is the Eel River Trap Club. This club was
founded in 1963 by Olan Chandler, Shirley Cook, Bill Dunn, Al
Grundman, Bud Myers, and Larry Wilson, who each put up $100 to
get it started. Just off the Kenmar Road exit, off Highway 101,
in Fortuna, Calif. the Club is situated on the City of Fortuna
well property, and has been leasing the property continuously
since 1963.
The
Club has 4 program traps (all automatics), a spacious clubhouse,
which includes a new kitchen area, and plenty of RV parking for
all those attending the 5 registered PITA shoots the club hosts
during the year. The Eel River Trap Club has the honor of being
the first PITA club to hold a registered “Toys For Tots” shoot,
which was held in November of 2001. This has proved to be the
start of an Annual event, to be held every year in November.
Come and shoot with us, and
enjoy the beautiful California Coast, as well as the California
Redwoods.
