If
you are looking for an example of a gun club
co-existing with a residential development, you need
look no further than the Portland Gun Club.
Founded in 1913 at it's present location, gradually
urban sprawl has practically surrounded the club
facilities. Manager, Mike Riggs, says reasonable
shooting hours and emphasis on safety has insured a
good neighbor relationship with the area residents.
The
Portland Gun Club facility is a fine example of trap
shootings days of popularity. The large well
maintained club house has a kitchen facility and a pro
shop under development. RV parking is available.
Eight trap fields, five-stand and sporting clays await
the shooter looking for a friendly reception and
spirited competition. Club hours are Tuesday
12:00 to dark, Thursday 12:00 to 10:00 p.m., Saturday
and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are
scheduled PITA registered shoots most months and PITA
registered marathon targets can be arranged upon
request. You are cordially invited to visit the
City of Roses and "Become Part of the Tradition" at
the Portland Gun Club.
