Smothered Stew Meat:

This is very tasty and easy to fix.

Cook 1 & 1/2 pounds of stew meat in an oiled skillet place in a 9 x 13 baking pan and cover with 2 ( 15 ounce ) cans drained whole potatoes in a separate pot mix 1 and 1/2 cups milk with 1 can ( 10 ounce ) mushroom soup and 1 (1 ounce ) dry onion soup mix and heat enough to mix well------then pour over meat and potatoes. cover and bake for 1 hour @ 325 degrees

Henry VIII Fried Cheese Cakes:

Try this for breakfast sometime------

2 cups cottage cheese
2 eggs-well beaten
1 to 2 tbsp flour
Butter for frying

Beat the eggs in a bowl, then add the cottage cheese and enough flour to hold it
together. Pour in a buttered pan set on medium heat. Press it down and shape
into a square. Brown, then gently turn over with a large spatula (hardest part) -
brown second side. Serve it warm with jam or jelly on top.

Enjoy,

Chef Halterman

Each month, PITA will select a winner from shooters who have submitted recipes for this contest.  The winner will have his/her photo taken and included with the winning recipe.  Each winner will be awarded a "really kewl" chef's apron. When you see someone wearing one of these aprons around the camping grounds - show them reverence for their culinary talents - they are an official "12 GAUGE GOURMET"!
