PITA TOYS FOR TOTS SERIES SHOOT

The Livermore-Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club opened their 2010 PITA shooting year with a two day Toys For Tots Series Shoot on a beautiful winter day. In the afternoon the westerly wind picked up and the temperature seemed to drop. As usual, there was an absence of trap trouble and the targets were well set and well thrown.

In Saturday’s singles, AA class went to Zachari Nannini with a 99. Kent Sakamoto took A Class with a perfect 100. Patrick Lindecker won B Class with a 99. Robert Rimmer and Shelby Dixon tied for C Class with 96’s, Shelby opted for the Lady Award. Norman Lacy and Marvin Schmidt tied D Class with 86’s, Norman left early and forfeited to Marvin.

Bob Graves and Randy Bratton tied for the Handicap Champion with 94’s, Bob won the shoot-off and walked away with the award. Long Yardage went to Jason Nelson with a 90, Mid Yardage to Randy Bratton with his 94, and Short Yardage to Bob McKnight with a 92.

In Saturday’s Doubles Jim Wyllie earned the Class AA honors with a 97. Tom Kuntz took Class A with a 96. Peter Hudson took Class B with an 89. Randy Bratton took Class C with a 90.

Bert Lim was the top Senior Veteran in the combined scores with a 183. Hinton Cleary took the Veteran honors with a 176. Shelby Dixon took the Lady award with a 185. Gregory Ballard won the Junior buckle with a 188.

Sunday’s cool temperature and more wind didn’t bother Zachari Nannini, Marc Valencia, and David Kelly. In the Singles event, they all broke one hundred of the somewhat difficult targets. David succeeded in winning the shoot off to take Class AA. Randy Bratton, David Nannini, and John Sculatti all broke 99’s in Class A, David won the shoot off to take this award. Robert Rimmer took Class B, also with a 99. Bob McKnight took Class C with a 98. Robert Lee took Class D with an 85.

David Kelly and Todd Simpson topped Sunday’s Handicap field with a pair of 95’s, Todd won the shoot off for the Champion award. David Kelly took the Long Yardage. Gregory Ballard took the Mid Yardage with a 92. Pat McKean took the Short Yardage with a 94.

In Sunday’s Doubles, David Kelly took AA Class with a 96. Kent Sakamoto won A Doubles with an 87. Randy Bratton took B Class with a 92. There was a 4-way tie for C Class with scores of 88 between Ian Wilson, Shelby Dixon, Todd Simpson, and Steve Thibodeau. After the shoot off was completed, Todd Simpson came out the winner.

Shelby Dixon was the top Lady with a 181. Hinton Cleary took the Vet honors with a 182. George Reese Sr. took the Senior Vet award with a 190. Gregory Ballard took the Junior award with a 187.
