PITA SERIES AWARDS SHOOT

          The Livermore-Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club opened their 2010 PITA shooting year with a two day shoot.  This also happened to be the annual Series Awards Shoot.  As usual, the club management ran the shoot professionally.
          A Fall shoot at Livermore can be wet and cold.  However, this time the weatherman treated the shooters kindly.  Both days were sunny and mild with a light north wind.
          In Saturday’s singles, Bart Clowdus and Jim Wyllie tied for AA Class with perfect 100’s;  Bart went on to win the carryover to take that class award.  Harry Kurotsuchi won A Class, Winton Cleary won B Class, Gary Presley won C Class, and Robert Lee won D Class.
          Ferdi Abraham topped the field in Saturday’s Handicap with a 92 and took the Mid-Yardage trophy.  Bob Graves earned the 27 Yard award with a 90.  Pat Carsten and John Wong tied for the Short Yard buckle with 91, unfortunately John forfeited by leaving early.
          In Saturday’s Doubles Jim Wyllie earned the Class AA honors with a 96.  Tom Kuntz took Class A with a 92.  Cole Rao took Class B with a 89.  Rod Merydith took Class C with an 83.
          Robert Rimmer was the top Senior Veteran in the combined scores with a 191.  Marty DeVries took the Veteran honors with a 181.  Kerrie Largent took the Lady award with a 180.  Shelby Dixon won the Junior buckle with a 171.
          Sunday’s cool temperature and more wind didn’t bother Dan Bonillas and Zachari Nannini.  In the Singles event, they both broke all one hundred of the somewhat difficult targets.  Dan succeeded in winning the carryover to take Class AA.  Lance Howard took Class A with a 97.  Kim Bowers took Class B, also with a 97.  Bert Lim took Class C with a 95.  Gloria Garcia and Marvin Schmidt tied for Class D with 88’s, they both chose to split this award.
          Dan Bonillas and Warren Hamatani topped Sunday’s Handicap field with a pair of 94’s, they decided to split the winnings.  Bert Lim and Kim Bowers both shot 93’s to take their respective Mid-Yardage and Short-Yardage awards.
          In Sunday’s Doubles David Kelly and Zachari Nannini tied with 99’s.  They opted to shoot this off with 27 Yard Doubles, in which David was the victor.  Cole Rao won A Doubles with an 87.  Kim Bowers took her third trophy for the day by winning B Class Doubles over Kerrie Largent (forfeit) with an 86.  Robert Lee won the C Class with an 81.
          Shelby Dixon was the top Lady over Kerrie Largent (forfeit) with a 183.  Marty DeVries took the Vet honors with a 190.  George Reese Sr. took the Senior Vet award with a 189.
          Zachari Nannini was the High Overall shooter with a total of 569.
