ATA EASTER SHOOT AT LIVERMORE

The Livermore-Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club hosted a one-day ATA Shoot on Easter Sunday.  The early spring day turned into an almost deep winter day!  At the start, the skies were clear with a cool northwesterly wind.  As the day progressed, the wind went up and the temperature dropped.  During the Handicap, an overcast crept in and presented a visual hazard to compliment the wind challenge.  As usual, there was an absence of trap trouble and the targets were well set and well thrown.

Despite the wind and vision problems three shooters stood out;  Chris Swasey won the A Singles with a 98 and B Doubles with an 85, Ian Wilson topped the Handicap event with a 95 (winning the 18-21 yardage) and the C Doubles with an 81, and Robert Margarite took the 22-24 yardage in the handicap with a 92 and also winning the High Overall for the day with a 281.

The moderate northwesterly wind depressed the scores in the opening 16 Yard event.  Ricky Pratton and Chris Swasey shot 98’s to win their respective AA and A Classes.  Kim Bowers took the B Class with a 96, Gary Presley took C Class with a 92, and Sam Toy took D Class with a 91.

In the Handicap, David Kelly and Ian Wilson broke 95 of the wind tossed targets to top the rest of the shooters by three targets!  They took the 27 Yard and 18-21 Yard groups, respectively.  Robert Margarite took the 22-24 Yard group with a 92 and Steve Bergeleen took the 25-26 Yard group with an 86.

In the Doubles, the overcast increased, as did the cold northwesterly wind.  Chris Swasey was shooting lead off in his squad with fellow Juniors Cole Rao and Tyler Stein.  Cole took AA Class with an 84, Tyler won A Class with a 94, and Chris won B Class with an 85.  Ian Wilson topped C Class with an 81.

Robert Margarite won the shoot High Overall with a 281x300.
