KIM BOWERS WINS CGSTA WINTER CHAIN BUCKLE AT LIVERMORE

This weekend turned into a beautiful early spring day.  The fields and hills along the way to Livermore were covered with emerald green grass.  The green was broken with large patches of bright yellow mustard weeds and orange California poppies.  Also, the apricot and plum trees were covered with bright pink and white blossoms.

The day started out clear, cool, still, and dry.  It stayed that way except when some overcast would creep in and present a visual challenge for the shooters.

Kim Bowers broke a 97 to win the CGSTA sterling silver and ruby buckle at Livermore-Pleasanton Rod & Gun Club’s California Chain Shoot March 27-28.  John Willey, trailed by one, and his 96 earned him the 18-23 trophy.

Zack Nannini, All American Team Member with more than a few career doubles perfect centuries to his credit, smacked 100 straight twins to win Sunday’s Class AA trophy by four over Andrew McClernon.

Four ran their 16-yard targets on Sunday.  Sharing the AA spoils were Ron Alcoriza, Andrew McClernon, Zack Nannini, and Jim Wyllie.  Andrew McClernon won the carry-over with a perfect 25 on the next trap.

Zack Nannini also ended tops on the weekend’s total 600 targets this time with a total of 579.  The HOA winner took home a 10-box flat of shells.
