47 shooters attended the Nanaimo Summer Classic this year. They shot under bright skies with winds playing tricks with the targets. This didn’t seem to bother our local shooter, Jack Gilmour, as he set a blistering pace that nobody could keep up with. Jack secured the High Over All win with a 96 in the final Handicap event. Just a few birds back were Ron Stubbings, Dave Wade and Dave Hesketh. The conditions were also right for Jodi Ann Thomson as she won her fair share of events. The shooters enjoyed a Saturday night delicious pot-luck dinner with bbq salmon as the main dish. The shoot went smoothly, with it rapping up around 3:30 Sunday afternoon. I would like to thank Roberta for doing a great job on the computer, my fiancé Kim who ran the kitchen and turned out those delicious hamburgers, and all the volunteers and shooters that helped make this shoot a success.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our VISL Championships on August 1st. We open the trap club for a Saturday afternoon practice. Campers are Welcome on Saturday.

George Denton, Trap Director.
